If you're thinking about quitting your current vacuum truck services job and moving to Anchorage, Alaska there are some things you should research before the move. Don't just go quitting your job yet. Before you move to Anchorage you should research the current Anchorage real estate market. You're going to need a place to live once you move there. Which means you should look into finding out about what types of properties are for sale. You should check out features Anchorage houses or condos have such as lead-lined drywall or heated flooring. Also, most importantly, see what real estate properties in Anchorage are going for. You're going to have to make sure you can afford to pay for an Anchorage home.

In order to pay for that home you're also going to need a job. Which means you should also research the Anchorage job market. You can either do an online job search through one of the many popular job search engine sites out there or pick up an Anchorage newspaper. It would probably be easier to hit up the website of the Anchorage Daily News. Browse their classifieds section to see what jobs are available. You'll find that Anchorage has plenty of jobs available in a variety of fields. Such as data entry clerk, customer service representative and sewage pumps installation technician. Whatever area your expertise lies in, you should be able to find a job in that area. If not, there's no need to panic as many companies offer job training. So if the only experience you have is from working at a butterfly valve manufacturer plant don't stress over it too much. You're sure to find something.

Now that you have the research for the job and home situation figured out there's one more important aspect of Anchorage you should look into before moving there. The weather. You might not know what exactly a subarctic climate is but that's what you would be faced with living in Anchorage. What that means is that Anchorage is home to a climate during the winter season that is very long and extremely cold. Then followed up by summers that are cool, a little mild, but usually short. The average temperature during the winter ranges from 5-30 degrees Fahrenheit. While the average temperature during the summer can be anywhere from 55-78 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not the ideal weather for someone who's used to California sun all year long. So make sure you're ready to live in such a climate before you make the call of quitting your automatic banding machine manufacturing job and moving to Anchorage.
